Musical Tableware by Alexander Hulme
“A collection of porcelain tableware; each piece rings at a different note when struck.
Starting with an equation used for making church bells it was possible to estimate the frequency each piece would ring at. From there, each note has been refined by tweaking the thickness and diameter. By measuring the frequency created by each time, every piece has ended up with a ‘recipe’ for the exact number of seconds it needs to be slip-cast for and a specific temperature to be fired at.”
